AXA Foundation to offer $670,000 in scholarships

Oct 07, 2011

AXA Equitable is offering 52 students scholarships and a chance at an internship.

The AXA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company, is working with U.S. News Media Group to offer the AXA Achievement Scholarships, which will grant $670,000 to students across the country. Since the program began 10 years ago, the AXA Achievement has donated more than $20 million in scholarships to 4,300 students.

The scholarship program will award $10,000 to one student from each state plus one student from both Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Of the 52 students awarded the scholarships, 10 will be chosen as national winners and receive an extra $15,000 award as well as an opportunity to intern with AXA Equitable. The foundation is looking for students who demonstrate drive and determination when working towards their goals, the ability to succeed academically and respect for themselves, their family and the community.

AXA Equitable has also recently announced the launch of its Pass It On! program, which is an online game of chance that illustrates the value of life insurance through a series of choices. Players can create an avatar and guide a virtual family towards a more secure financial future. Different obstacles and challenges players face include saving game currency, managing expenses and making decisions about life insurance. Participants also have a chance to win $25,000 or $15,000 in the Pass It On! Sweepstakes.
