Life insurance may not be something most people openly talk about. That, however, may change sometime soon.
The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education recently launched a Facebook application as part of Life Insurance Awareness Month. The social networking tool will help companies and producers reach out to consumers with valuable information.
LIFE Foundation senior vice president and chief creative officer Jon Dressner says the What Matters Most to Me app and contest are a new way they are trying to reach out to clients.
"Facebook is all about letting your friends know what's going on in your life and our hope is that this app can tap into its viral nature to help spread our message about life insurance in a creative way," says Dressner.
The Facebook contest encourages people to create a slideshow highlighting the most important people in their lives. Slideshows posted by the end of the month will be eligible for a five-day trip for two to Aruba.
Given that more people are doing every day tasks online, finding a life insurance quote online may be a good way for people to begin researching policies.
