Online tools for life insurance shoppers

Mar 07, 2012

Online resources can make life insurance shopping a breeze.

The California Partnership for Long-Term Care recently launched a new website to provide valuable information and resources to consumers investigating the costs and protection plans for long-term care. In conjunction with the state Department of Health Care Services and numerous life and long-term care providers, the partnership aims to educate the public on the importance of long-term care coverage and life insurance to protect against financial hardship in the future.

Long-term care insurance helps reduce the costs associated with in-home support services and nursing home care, which are typically not covered by standard health insurance or Medicare. Using life insurance policies and long-term care coverage, consumers can age comfortably, knowing they are not financially burdening their children or family members, HealthyCal reported.

In addition, the Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts recently relaunched its website with added features, expanded content and improved navigation. Consumers can browse the company website to learn about life insurance options, coverage and benefits. The site includes guides, videos and calculators to help consumers determine how much life insurance they will need and what plans are available to them.
